The Bowling Club was set up in November 1936 and has been a permanent member of East Grinstead town’s local sporting scene.  

In 1936 there was another club playing at West Street in East Grinstead - the town’s British Legion Bowls Club.  However, that was disbanded and then several legion members and other bowls enthusiasts decided to set up a new Club using the six-rink facility at Mount Noddy.

The new Club called itself Mount Noddy (EG) Bowling Club to differentiate from the existing West Street Club. 

In 1950 the club in West Street closed and another name change saw the (Mount Noddy) name dropped and East Grinstead Bowling Club was adopted and remains the Town’s club.

Today the Club enjoys a full fixture list for Matches with other local Bowling Clubs and welcomes new bowlers.

We are very proud that we were one of the first Clubs to allow women players. We are delighted to have a mixed Club of varying abilities.
