Welcome to the East Grinstead Bowling Club
Thank you for visiting the site and we hope that you may be interested in coming along and meeting us and joining.
We are a very friendly Club and we play bowls during the summer months from April to September, weather depending. It is a fun game with many health benefits.
We are in the heart of East Grinstead and if driving, there is a free car park very close by.
We have our own Club room, and usually have tea and biscuits and chat after each game.
The Club welcomes all abilities and novices are very welcome. We have a roll-up once a week and an in-house league game plus various Matches throughout the season for anyone interested once they have joined.
Lawn bowls has many health benefits, including improved fitness, increased confidence, and better mental wellbeing. It's also a low-impact exercise that can help build bone tissue and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
We have some spare ‘bowls’ that you may use to start with before purchasing your own.
We also have a couple of Social Activities throughout the year.
If you are new to bowls, we know how daunting it can be to take that first step, but we will welcome you and show you the Game and provide instruction.
Attire
The typical dress code is greys or whites depending on whether it is a Roll-Up or a Match.
However, Bowls England are promoting a more casual attire for a roll-up which our Club embraces. So don’t feel concerned about having the ‘right gear’ to start. For matches, however, Greys and Whites are required and vary depending on the Match. A leaflet with information will be given to members on joining about the Matches and Fixtures.
Shoes: should be flat soled without a heel.
